Safe Place

Imagine you’re standing high above the city atop a 40-story building – you realize it’s a helipad. There are no rails and no one instructing you to remain distanced from the building’s edge.
 
Although some folks aren’t bothered by such heights, most naturally grow nervous. Anxiety wells up. Your internal voice screams, “Get down! Descend now to the ground floor! Retreat to where it’s safe!” We naturally seek security, longing for a solid foundation under our feet. 
 
As stressful demands accumulate, you may feel as though you are high up, exposed, precarious, insecure, full of anxiety…and that little voice keeps saying, “Get to a safe place!” Yet, circumstances don’t change, and you wonder if, let alone where, that safe place actually exists. 
 
Happily, I can assure you that Jesus Christ is that sure foundation; that safe place; that solid base on which you can rely for your security – no matter the circumstances of your day.
